embedding Social Value

Social Value

Social value is about the wider positive impact an organisation creates through the way it operates, beyond simply delivering goods or services. In a UK public-sector context, this typically includes creating local jobs and skills, supporting small and diverse supply chains, reducing carbon emissions, improving wellbeing, and contributing to stronger, more inclusive communities. Increasingly, social value is not a “nice to have” — it is a formal, scored part of procurement decisions, shaped by government policy and embedded into how contracts are awarded, managed, and evaluated.

Atamis supports suppliers to increase and evidence their social value because it directly improves procurement outcomes for both buyers and suppliers. Buyers gain clearer, more comparable data on how suppliers contribute to policy priorities, while suppliers are able to move beyond generic statements and demonstrate real, measurable impact. By encouraging suppliers to capture, manage, and continuously improve their social value, Atamis helps them become more tender-ready, more competitive, and better aligned with public sector expectations. The result is a more transparent, outcome-focused procurement process where social value is not overstated or under-measured, but embedded into everyday business practice and recognised consistently across the market.
